79At 6 feet tall, I've had some amazing role models growing up- women that made me proud to stand out (and above everyone else) in a crowd. My favorite, Brooke Shields, has spent most of her life in the limelight, but I'm thankful to her for showing me how wonderful being tall is or at least making the best of what I've been given. Awkward no longer describes tall women, but sexy certainly does. Long legs, poised posture, sexy curves, and other amazon features make tall a very desirable trait.
Brooke Shields started her career when she was a baby (11 months old) as a child model, and her first big hit movie was Blue Lagoon at age 15, which included controversial nude scenes. When most young girls were going through awkward stages early in life, Brooke Shields was absolutely gorgeous, an innocent beauty.
Besides the early rise to sex symbol stardom, she has consistently proven her many other talents. She received a degree from Princeton, advocated virginity in her college years, became a mom of 2 young girls, and wrote a deep dark biographical account in 'Down Came The Rain' of her temporary setback, postpartum depression. For her controversial start with celebrity status, she is very humble and quirky, not defined by her looks. And I'm sure it wouldn't surprise you to know her lineage can be traced back to royalty.

Liv Tyler is best known as Steven Tyler's daughter. Her father is the lead singer in one of America's most classic bands, Aerosmith, and in her early years she made an appearance in his music video, 'Crazy', along with Alicia Silverstone. Like many of the tall celebrity beauties, she got her start in modeling and who could resist her full lip pout, dark silky hair, and innocent attitude? As an actress she is well-known for appearing in Armageddon and Lord of the Rings.

Acting seemed to give her an escape and she was naturally good at it. Now she is the hot tall celebrity you see before you today.

Minnie Driver is probably most well-known for her role in Good Will Hunting and her amazon beauty with a quirky English accent. You can also identify her by amazing, unruly dark and wild hair, which fits pefectly on her tall voluptious frame.
Original Sports Hottie Gabrielle Reece 6' 3"
Gabrielle Reece did for volleyball and women's sports what Marilyn Monroe did for Playboy magazine. It's worth mentioning Playboy because she was in an issue- on the cover as well. She has posed for many fashion and sports magazines and continues to be a volleyball legend. There is not one square inch of the tallest woman on my list, that isn't absolutely gorgeous.
Joss Stone 5' 10"
Joscelyn Stone is a well-known Grammy Award winning soul singer in both the UK and United States. Her first claim to fame album was "Soul Sessions". She has also graced the big screen in the movie "Eragon" and a couple of tv shows as well. Joss is always changing her style and her hair color but it doesn't matter- she proves she can do anything and somehow it's only an improvement. Typically, she has a very sultry down-to-earth style from carefree to glamorous, she's well-versed in the sexy and tall category.
Tyra Banks 5' 10"
Tyra Banks is as ambitious as she is beautiful. One of the original Victoria Secret models to gain celebrity status. Who doesn't love girl power in lingerie? She has proven her other talents as talk show host on The Tyra Banks Show and reality star judge on America's Next Top Model. This woman cares about social issues as much as she does beauty, but most of all she is sexy all wrapped up in one package.
Elizabeth Berkeley 5' 10"
Elizabeth Berkeley stands tall at 5' 10" and went above and beyond to prove her sexiness in 'Showgirls' movie. While she isn't the best actress, she sure can strut her stuff confidently and beautifully.

tmwnp~ it figures- many tall guys pick really short women. I only dated 1 or 2 guys taller than me- most were my height or an inch or two shorter. I think it's cool when a tall woman wears heels. It says a lot about confidence in a man who can be with a taller woman and "eating up the attention"- good for you. But if I ever had to hear "did you play basketball"? one more time, I'd go nuts. Actually I played volleyball- thank you very much!!

Martie~ Hi there. How about putting on some spike heels and maybe you would be about 5' 9". It's interesting for tall girls- when we're young, we get attention for all the wrong reasons and we hate that attention. I remember thinking sometimes it would be nice to just blend in and not stand out in a crowd. Finally when we grow up, we hopefully learn to appreciate that attention because we worked hard to overcome teasing. yenajeon~ I still wish was shorter sometimes- we all want what we can't have. My best friend is 5' feet tall and she always gets comments about how young she looks and I think it is mostly because of her height. Tall women always look more mature when they are younger and we will never be cute- bum deal. But, like you, I have embraced being who I am- tall and all!! take care.

At 5'4", I always feel that girls should be tall and confident. Thankfully my daughter is a little taller than me at 14 and she'll grow a few more inches. Tall girls are beautiful and that includes you izettl.Nice hub!

Sooner or later you learn what clothes fit best on you, where to shop for long clothes, etc. You grow into your body and features and it all works out!

This is a real boost to my confidence, I always feel shy walking in heels as I'm 5'10. I didn't realise just how many tall women are concidered hot. Thanks I shall try and embrace my hight.
Do what makes you feel comfortable. Heels aren't a big deal. When I was a teen they were and into my early 20's, but then as you get a little older, you begin to realize what exactly sexy is to you personally. There are plenty of women, even celebrities on this hub, that had confidence issues in their early years and got over it when they got a bit older- that's pretty normal to go through no mater what height you are. It get better!!
I used to go out with a girl who was 6'6" - she starred in the GOSH programmes on tv a few years ago - I was forever telling her to stand up straight. Glad she did. Helen. btw I'm 6'8". My daughters are 6' & 5'10". Great girls. And they have my good looks too.

I am currently 5'9 1/2 IN BARE FEET. I'm not one of those "annoying" people (men & women) who add 1-3 inches to their height just because "they feel like doing so". I HONESTLY towered over every boy & every girl in my grade school classes, & it really sucked, but you do learn (as you get older) to "embrace your height". Many years ago, I had a sexy, blond, friend who would constantly "lament" over how she wished she were TALL like me. (She was 5'3 in bare feet.) I was a TALL, sexy, blond, & she was a SHORT, sexy, blond, & who do you think got MOST of the MALE ATTENTION when she & I went out to bars or clubs? (Many men are quite intimidated by tall women, whereas short woman are "CUTE AS HELL" & most definitely FAR LESS INTIMIDATING TO MEN. LOL)
Alicia~ I completely agree that short girls get the attention. However, confidence is key when you're tall. I also had a 5' tall friend I went out to clubs with and if a guy went for her then I figured he was insecure- don't want him anyway, but as my confidence grew and MEN get older, they're not looking for "cutesy" anymore, they want a woman. While short girl are cute girls, tall women are WOMEN!!
Wow I had no idea of the height of some of these actresses/singers! Being 5'1 this hub made me feel short and then I realized I was sitting down and reading Hahaha! I remember when Nicole Kidman was married to Tom Cruise, he insisted that she wear flats when they were in public and/or he had lifts placed in his shoes. I really enjoyed reading this :) I was having a slightly insecure day. I'm 5ft 10 and have been since I was 15. Like many of you say, being tall you are never see as 'cute', guys are intimidated by you (especially ones of my age - 23) but I noticed old men seem to see the height as a positive thing!
I do feel insecure at times with my height and often slouch, but I am getting better with it. It's not exactly something I can change about myself and nor should I or anyone else want me to. I just need to find someone who loves my height and see it as a positive thing - rather than a hurdle to get past!
London88~ Thanks for the comment. People react to how you view yourself. If you act confident then you will be treated like that. I've had times when I know I stand out in the crwod and I don't want to but I just put my game face on and act like how I want to be treated. As you get older you'll see there are many women who wish they were taller and many men who love tall women.

I'm 5'10 and have always had attention from men even at a young age, many of my friends at school were about my height. I was seen as a tall sexy female! A lot of men love tall women but its all about the confidence. I have always been very confident regardless of what anyone thinks and that is what I believe is the key factor.

I'm a little over 6', my son is 6'2". One daughter is 5' and the other is 5'1" Jimbo got my body and more while my girls got their mom's bod. She's 5'
I was with a girl that was a model for Ditto Jeans for several years. She was 6' and towered over me in heels. I ate up the attention I got when we walked into a room together. Stupid ego.
