My name is Laura Jean. Nice to meet you. I am 6' tall (love it) and I constantly wear a smirk because I find the humor in life. I'm an old soul and feel like I've already had a long life.I write for business and pleasure. 

I have a Psychology degree, but that's just a piece of paper. The real experience with people and psychology came from being a waitress for 12 years and a few years in Human Resources. I'm currently a freelance writer, writing blogs for business websites.   

I range from motivational to controversial. I like to discuss the tough subjects people don't readily bring up; too embarrassed, taboo, not politically correct, etc. Topics like religion, politics, social issues, and relationships. Most of all I like to make people uncomfortable enough to start thinking, reflecting, and learning something about themselves and the world around them.

You might find me a bit cynical or sarcastic, but I'm honest and open-minded, love a good discussion on hubpages, and have made some terrific friends and fans here- probably some frenemies too.

Turn-ons: unexpected conversations with strangers who become friends (this happens a lot to me), wearing flip-flops, dancing, listening to music, reading children's books, and anything to do with my 4 year old daughter....and more recently my new baby boy.
